Paying the Price: The Impact of Immigration Raids on America's Children

Ms. Castañeda will report on a recently completed study commissioned by the National Council of La Raza on the consequences of worksite enforcement raids conducted by the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The report focuses on the consequences for children, families and communities in three cities affected by recent worksite raids, including New Bedford, MA. Ms. Castaneda, who led the fieldwork and co-authored the study will discuss the findings and recommendations.

Rosa Maria Castañeda is a Research Associate at the Urban Institute. Ms. Castañeda holds Masters degrees in Research Methods from the London School of Economics and in Public Policy from George Washington University. Her areas of expertise includes immigration policy, child and family welfare, workforce development policies and programs, and American federalism.
