Jumping the Broom Workshop

Jumping the Broom Training of Trainers Workshop
On Tuesday November 27th, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Become a Leader of Equality within the Black community and help promote
greater understanding and acceptance of marriage equality.

Jumping the Broom Training of Trainers Workshop
Tuesday, November 27th
6 - 8:30 PM
Harriet Tubman House
566 Columbus Ave,
Boston MA

In this workshop, we will train you in you in group discussion facilitation, give you copies of our new publication, Jumping the Broom: A Black Perspective on Same-Gender Marriage, to distribute, teach you about local resources, and give you the opportunity to meet other people like yourself who want to engage the Black community in positive ways around sexual orientation.

We hope you will become a leader in your church and/or community by speaking at various religious institutions and churches within Black and African American communities and other communities of color across the state in an effort to open the dialogue about same-gender marriage and how it affects Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people within these communities. Our goal is to engage people through open community discussion workshops, to distribute our new publication, Jumping the Broom, and to hopefully broaden peoples perspectives of their LGBT brothers and sisters.

MassEquality is very excited about engaging communities of color through this project, and we hope you will join us in this effort. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we may include you as a participant in this important and groundbreaking workshop.
